Research & Analysis

The research and analysis conducted by European Water Partnership through the Water Technology and Research Watch (WP3) and the European Water Policy Observatory (WP4) will form a major part of STREAM and generate the largest of the content to be disseminated both in terms of research and policy issues.

The analysis and following content produced by both the two activities will be also useful to organize the Policy Seminars and to shape the structure, topics and learning tools of summer schools and e-Learning course.

Within the Water Technology and Research Watch, the European Water Partnership set up a specific body, the Scientific Advisory Committee, to monitor and review the project outcomes.

The objectives of the Water Technology and Research Watch are:

  1. To identify the state of the art on technology and research on water;
  2. To prepare the information material targeted individually to each stakeholder group;
  3. To regularly monitor and update the state of the art throughout the STREAM project development.

Similarly the European Water Policy Observatory and Policy Seminars activity (WP 4) will aim at regular monitoring and disseminating tailor-made information on European policies and legislations related to water to the specific stakeholder groups.

The Policy Seminars organised between October 2011 and November 2012 will be a suitable occasion where policy makers, SMEs and researchers could exchange their experiences and knowledge and thus enhance their effective cooperation.

The European Water Policy Observatory and Policy Seminars will aim at:

  1. Developing a stronger connection between the political level and the research sector;
  2. Raising awareness about the policy developments on water in Europe among all stakeholders (specifically research and business);
  3. Raising awareness on the latest available research and scientific data among EU politicians.
