School modules

The First Summer School was composed by 16 Didactic Units and in 3 different Modules:

 

Module 1 on Water Management, Governance and Policy (base competences)

The objective of this module is to give participants a clear snapshot of European Water Management, Governance and Policy examining the most important EU Directives related to water and analysing GWG – Global Water Governance – through best practices. Participants were exposed to both theoretical and practical components of the module content, studying funded projects and visiting an important water management centre in Catalonia, the Catalan Water Agency.

Module 2 on Innovative Water Technologies (specific competences)

The objective of this module is to give to the participants a clear snapshot of the most important and innovative Water Technologies, examining the following topics: Environmental Impact Assessment on Aquatic Media; Water and Energy; Water Reuse and Groundwater Restoration. Like in the first module, speakers and lecturers recruited from leader companies in Europe developed didactic units with a best practice approach. Participants were exposed to both theoretical and practical components of the module content, studying funded projects and visiting important centres and plants in Catalonia.

Module 3 on Research and innovation support to young researchers and SMEs

The objective of this Module is to provide participants with the concepts, methodologies and tools for improving their competitiveness through innovation allowing them to incorporate and improve the innovation management systems and the projects related with Research, Development and Information Technology activities. The aim is to guide these activities towards developing processes and products, which anticipate the current necessities and problems of companies and customers, and situates them at the avant-garde of the market at a technological level. The field of action of this module is very wide. Particular attention was be put on IPR - Intellectual property Rights and on Green Business Instruments for Companies. Through the extensive participation of four partners, participants can also learn “on field” competences.
